What is Looking For Antiques?

Looking For Antiques is a website that has been specifically designed for people looking to buy antiques from reputable antique dealers in a secure environment at competitive prices, and for full-time dealers only, seeking to sell antiques online to a wider audience.

What is the ‘Request Service’?

Our Item 'Request Service' is a unique tool that enables a customer to ask our dealer database to source a specific antique for them.  If one or more of our dealers have the requested item in stock, or in storage, they can offer it for purchase.

How does delivery work?

Shipping details for each antique are available on the item page allowing you to obtain an estimate for the total cost of their purchase, including delivery, before proceeding to checkout. There are up to 3 different shipping methods available. 'Self-pickup' (to be arranged by the buyer), 'Dealer Delivery' (to be arranged by the seller and optionally charged extra for), and our internal courier Pack & Send. If Pack & Send are selected, they will make a customer follow up call to confirm full delivery details after the purchase is confirmed.

Can I return the goods if I've changed my mind, if they are damaged, or if they are not as described by the Dealer?

Yes. Goods can be returned as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015, see

What if an item has already been sold elsewhere?

While we make every effort to make sure our dealers keep their stock items fully up to date, there may be occasions when an item or items have been sold outside of the LFA website i.e. via a dealer's shop or through another online antique portal, and the dealer is only able to update their Looking For Antiques account by the end of the business day.

To this end, we perform a dealer ‘stock check’ BEFORE any potential sale, and NEVER capture funds from a customer’s bank account until the dealer has verified that the item in question is still available and for sale.

Looking for Antiques offers a risk-free, flexible and zero cost service to dealers to list and promote their antiques to collectors and enthusiasts.

What are the costs of selling on Looking for Antiques?

Only when a dealer’s item sells will  Looking for Antiques take a small commision based on the final selling price of that item. There is no setup fee, subscription charges or otherwise to list and promote your items on Looking for Antiques.  We only charge 10% when we sell an item, so it’s ‘Pay As You Sell’.

As a seller can I upload unlimited items to the Looking For Antiques website?

Yes, you can upload as much as you wish, it won't cost you anything. All we ask is when a customer buys an item in store, that you to immediately update your stock listing on the LFA website to reflect this.

How does delivery work?

Do I need a website to sell with Looking For Antiques?

No, all you need is an Internet connection, email access and the ability to upload images for sale and to reply to a customer requests.
